Biography
Aubrey IV de Vere was 2nd Earl of Oxford and heir to his family's feudal barony of Hedingham. He died without legitimate children, and his brother Robert was his heir.

If Aubrey is the 2nd Earl of Oxford his birth date (given above as about 1167) should be before his brother Robert the 3rd Earl, whose birth date is given as after 1264. The pedigree chart for the De Veres, Earls of Oxford, in the images gives Aubrey’s birth date as c1163.
